Pregnancy and Birth Injury Claims

Post-Partum Haemorrhage

It is normal for women to experience some blood loss after giving birth. However, some women experience abnormally heavy bleeding, known as post-partum haemorrhage (PPH) which can be dangerous.

PPH can be life threatening. Medical professionals are trained to recognise situations where a mother is at risk of suffering PPH. They should take the necessary steps in order to reduce the chance of a haemorrhage, or prevent it altogether. If a haemorrhage does occur, it is important that the bleeding is controlled and treated quickly.

If you have suffered a PPH related injury which you believe was caused or exacerbated by medical negligence, you may be entitled to make a claim for compensation.
