Pregnancy and Birth Injury Claims

Ruptured Uterus

A ruptured uterus is a serious complication during pregnancy which can be life threatening to both the mother and the baby. It happens when the womb tears.

It is important that a uterine rupture is diagnosed and treated promptly. Treatment involves an urgent caesarean section and uterine repair if possible. If a repair is not possible, a hysterectomy will be performed. Typically there is a lot of blood loss and often the mother requires a blood transfusion and antibiotics.

If you have suffered from a ruptured uterus related injury which you believe was caused or exacerbated by medical negligence, you may be entitled to make a claim for compensation.
